Other issues raised at recent meetings

A number of local issues have been raised at recent meetings. We would very much welcome your opinions on any of these issues as this will help in us taking them up. Also if there are any other issues that we are not yet aware of.

Local issues that we are aware of include:

  • broken pavements in St Johns Rd
  • pavement parking in St Johns Rd
  • supporting local shops in St Johns Hill
  • the loss of facilities within the town
  • broken fences around the Primary School in Bradbourne Park Rd
  • people trying to "hack" into wi-fi wireless internet broadband connections in Bradbourne Rd
  • missing salt bins for gritting Golding Rd and Camden Rd and the lack of gritting in bad weather
  • parking near the doctors' surgery in Camden Rd
  • 3-storey houses proposed for 22 St Georges Rd and other development sites
  • speeding traffic in St Johns Rd and Bradbourne Rd
  • anti-social behaviour in the open space at the top of St Johns Rd
  • the build-up of rubbish in St Johns Rd opposite Park House
  • stopping storm water overflowing the corner of St James's Rd and St George's Rd

If you have any thoughts on any of these or anything else, please let us know.

SDC Housing Consultation

SDC (Sevenoaks District Council) invited residents of Sevenoaks to attend meetings where development and housing issues were presented. SDC asked for comments on “The Preferred Options: Core Strategy” and “The interim Housing Policy Supplementary Planning”. Representatives from St. John's Residents' Association attended.

Links to the relevant documents can be found under the "Link" section of this website.

Sevenoaks Primary School

There is a possibility that the open space between Sevenoaks Primary School and the Adult Education Institute may be developed in the future.  We are waiting to see if a planning application is submitted and will comment on it as and when it is submitted.

In the meantime, please make your views known regarding the potential development of the green area between the primary school and the Adult Education Centre. You can write to Kent County Council who own the land or to Sevenoaks District Council who will deal with any planning application.

Please let the St John's Residents' Association know about your views and who you have written to.

Local planning applications are listed on our website and you can see details on the Sevenoaks District Council website:
